About the Team and the Role

The Product Validation team at Ather is responsible for ensuring the long-term reliability and safety of our electric vehicle components through rigorous stress testing and data-driven verification. This team manages sophisticated lab environments to simulate real-world conditions and push our technology to its limits before it reaches the customer.

This role is for a hands-on operational lead focused on the efficient and safe execution of battery testing protocols. You will be responsible for test execution integrity, accurate data collection, and maintaining the operational readiness of critical lab assets during rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise component-level reliability and electrical testing on lab chambers and rigs.

• Assemble, configure, and verify complex test setups and equipment according to established test plans.

• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, specifically regarding thermal runaway and high-voltage safety.

• Collect, record, and verify the accuracy of all test data logs and initial observations.

• Document and report failures or anomalies, providing supporting data to management for Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

• Prepare detailed shift changeover reports to communicate progress and critical issues to the relieving shift.

• Maintain the lab environment, ensuring rigs and chambers are clean, organized, and operational.

• Assist with routine maintenance and calibration monitoring for lab equipment, escalating repairs as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a testing lab, manufacturing, or operations environment.

• Significant exposure to battery packs or high-voltage electrical systems is preferred.

Must Have Competencies

• Execution of battery testing protocols using specialized lab equipment and high-voltage data acquisition systems.

• Technical verification of complex test setups for component-level reliability and electrical stress testing.

• Management of shift-based lab operations including safety compliance and emergency protocol adherence.

• Accurate recording and verification of test data logs using Excel or lab-specific software tools.

Good to Have Competencies

• Identification and documentation of hardware anomalies to support formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

• Routine maintenance and calibration monitoring of lab chambers and environmental testing rigs.

• Application of reliability testing standards and procedures within a Product Validation framework.

• Coordination of technical handover processes and shift-based task prioritization within a sprint model.
