Job Description

Role Objective:

To lead quality control operations in the laboratory, ensuring accurate analysis and testing of polymer specimens using advanced instrumentation and injection molding machines. The role supports the approval of compounded materials in alignment with established quality specifications and testing protocols.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality analysis using state-of-the-art laboratory instruments.
  • Operate injection molding machines to prepare polymer specimens for testing.
  • Perform testing of incoming raw materials and production samples.
  • Maintain batch-wise sampling plans and ensure timely testing.
  • Prepare and execute lab tests for engineering polymers and polycarbonates.
  • Operate and maintain modern lab equipment including:
    • TGA, DSC, MFI/MVR, VICAT, IZOD, Tensile testers
    • KF Moisture Analyzer, Gas Chromatography, UL Flame Test
  • Ensure proper documentation and inventory control of lab chemicals and samples.
  • Support ISO documentation and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot lab instrumentation and injection molding issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the lab and molding areas.
  • Participate in firefighting crew and report safety incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Production, QC, Logistics) and external stakeholders.
  • Support audits, complaint analysis, and CAPA processes.

  • Internal & External Rejection Rates
  • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Monthly Quality Kaizens
  • Supplier Incoming Quality

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: CIPET or Chemical Technology from reputed institutions in Gujarat or other Indian states.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in chemical/polymer/engineering plastics industry, specifically in lab functions.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of polymer testing.
  • Familiarity with co-rotating twin screw extruders.
  • Experience with LIMS, SAP/Oracle systems, SOP preparation.
  • Exposure to ISO, IATF standards, and audit processes.
  • Safety-conscious and disciplined team player.
  • Analytical mindset with customer-centric approach.
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, TQM, FMEA, CPk, 8D reporting.
