Position Overview:

The University invites applications for the position of Lab Associate Comp Science & Data Science. The incumbent will support teaching, research, and laboratory activities in data science, statistical modelling, and computational analytics. The role involves assisting faculty and students with experiments, projects, and practical applications of advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and web-based frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in lab sessions, practical exercises, and projects across courses including:
• Python, C, C++, Java, SQL, OS, Networking, Cloud Computing
• Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Web Frameworks, Predictive Analytics
• Big Data Frameworks (BDF), Big Data & Cloud Computing, Cloud Computing
• Data Visualization & Storytelling, Visualizing Data for Storytelling
• Data Structures, Essentials of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Support faculty and students in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, predictive models, and computational tools.
• Develop and maintain web-based applications and dashboards using web frameworks.
• Perform data analysis, visualization, and interpretation to support research and teaching.
• Maintain lab equipment, software tools, and computational resources.
• Document lab procedures, analyses, and project outcomes.
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and students on technical problem-solving and academic projects.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in data science, AI, big data, cloud computing, and analytics.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, Java, or similar languages.
• Proficiency in web frameworks, data visualization tools, and EDA techniques.
• Understanding of predictive analytics, AI fundamentals, and cloud computing technologies.
• Knowledge of data structures, big data frameworks, and storytelling with data.

Experience

• 03 years of relevant experience in university labs, research, or technical projects is desirable
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an academic environment
• Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality lab work
• Effective written and verbal communication for documentation and reporting
