Job Summary
As a L2 VAS Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting IOTA Core Signalling networks, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring seamless integration of new services for global customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide advanced technical support, and contribute to process improvements to deliver high-quality services within agreed SLAs. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction and service excellence.
WFO Requirement : Noida Sec-62 (Hybrid 2 days' work from office with on-call support). The engineer is usually on call once a month for about one week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the IOTA Core signalling networks ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on VAS nodes including: SMSC, Location Based Services,
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on Core CS nodes including HLR/HLR-FW, HSS/HSS-FE, CUDB, STP, DEA/DSC/DRA.
- Provide technical support to sales, marketing, project managers, and customers, including pre-sales activities and supervision of core network implementations.
- Develop, manage, and implement automation scripts to streamline operations.
- Verify and support configuration change implementations.
- Analyze risk and assess impact of new service integrations or design changes.
- Coordinate with L1 support, Engineering, and other teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Deliver remote support and troubleshooting for integration engineers, customers, and third-party partners.
- Create, review, and update processes and procedures for new configurations or common issue fixes.
- Actively participate in problem management processes when required.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support, when needed, to assist the L1 team.
- Coordinate, support, and execute proactive and reactive maintenance activities to ensure service quality within SLAs.
- Prepare and deliver KPI reports and dashboards to track performance.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the Telecom Core Network domain.
- Solid knowledge of mobile telecom networks and signaling.
- Good understanding of IP networking principles (experience in IP networking is a plus).
- Proven hands-on experience and strong understanding of at least one of the following technical areas (multiple areas strongly preferred):
- Core CS : MSC/MSC Server, STP, HLR/HLR-FE, CUDB, HSS/HSS-FE, DEA/DRA/DSC, APG 43/43L, IMS, Protocol Analyzer, SS7, SIGTRAN, Diameter, SIP, VoLTE, CCDM, 5G Core;
- VAS : SMSC, SMPP, SMS over SGd/IMS, Location Based Services (3G & 4G);
- Tools : OSIX;
- Experience with Ericsson products (STP, HLR/HLR-FE, CUDB, HSS/HSS-FE, DEA/DRA/DSC) is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Linux; Google Cloud, OpenStack, and Kubernetes experience is a plus.
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash) are a plus.
- Availability for on-call rotations.
- Proficiency in English.
