About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes Platform Technical Lead with strong hands-on expertise in platform engineering (not application development). The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Kubernetes, Terraform, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with proven leadership capabilities to guide a team of platform developers.

This role involves designing, building, and managing container platforms using GKE on GCP through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), while ensuring platform reliability, scalability, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Engineering & Operations

• Design, build, and manage container platforms using GKE on GCP via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Implement and manage Cloud Service Mesh and GKE Fleet.
• Oversee lifecycle management of GKE add-ons, Anthos Service Mesh, security tools, instrumentation, and observability solutions.
• Implement best practices to meet internal SLA/SLO requirements.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform deployments.
• Ensure robust security controls and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions for the GKE platform.
• Respond to platform alerts and incidents, driving continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for platform configurations and best practices.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to roll out enhancements and manage Kubernetes maintenance requests.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Lead sprint planning sessions to understand and implement infrastructure enhancements.
• Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to refine user stories and quarterly objectives.
• Conduct sprint retrospectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of Kubernetes Platform Developers.
• Review code to ensure adherence to quality and security standards.
• Conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions within the team.
• Monitor team performance, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development.
• Conduct quarterly performance evaluations and annual appraisals.

Technical Skills & Expertise

Infrastructure & Cloud

• Strong expertise in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) including state management and modular design.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud providers.
• Experience in automating and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform best practices.

Kubernetes & Containerization

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and components.
• Experience deploying, managing, and scaling workloads in Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, storage, and security.
• Experience with Cloud Service Mesh and container technologies such as Docker.

DevOps & Automation

• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred).
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture and microservices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.
