About the Role

We are hiring Kong Developers who will work on developing, configuring, and maintaining API solutions using Kong Gateway . You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure, scalable, and efficient API integrations.

Key Responsibilities

API Gateway Development

• Configure and manage Kong entities (services, routes, plugins, upstreams).

• Implement API transformations, routing rules, and traffic policies.

• Develop and maintain custom Lua scripts for basic customization needs.

API Integration

• Integrate Kong with backend systems, microservices, and legacy APIs.

• Create and maintain API lifecycle components (versioning, rate limiting, auth policies).

• Work on load balancing, caching, request/response modifications, and logging.

Security & Reliability

• Implement API authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, Key-Auth, etc.

• Ensure API performance, stability, and uptime using monitoring and logging tools.

Testing & Troubleshooting

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing for APIs.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to routes, plugins, latency, and service failures.

Deployment & Collaboration

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy configurations using CI/CD pipelines.

• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

• 35 years of experience in API development and integration.

• Hands-on experience with Kong Gateway configuration and management.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Lua scripting .

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and JSON protocols.

• Experience with API security (JWT, OAuth, rate limiting, etc.).

• Familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, Postman, and Linux.

• Good debugging and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

• Exposure to container and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger specs.

• Knowledge of other API gateways is a plus.

• Experience working with logging/monitoring tools.
