Role Overview:
The Account Manager is responsible for managing client relationships, ensuring successful campaign execution, and driving account growth. This role requires a blend of strategy, communication, performance understanding, and project coordination. The Account Manager acts as the bridge between clients and internal teams, ensuring that marketing efforts align with business objectives and deliver measurable results.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
1. Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts
- Build strong, long-term client relationships based on trust and performance
- Understand clients business models, target audiences, competitors, and market positioning
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new clients
- Schedule and lead regular review meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Manage client expectations regarding timelines, budgets, and results
- Ensure prompt and professional communication across email, calls, and meetings
- Handle client concerns, escalations, and feedback effectively
2. Strategy Development
- Understand client goals and convert them into actionable digital marketing strategies
- Collaborate with performance, creative, content, and tech teams to build integrated marketing plans
- Recommend channels and approaches based on data and industry trends
- Identify opportunities for campaign testing and experimentation
- Support media planning and budget allocation strategies
3. Campaign Planning & Oversight
- Ensure smooth execution of campaigns across:
- Paid advertising (Meta, Google, LinkedIn, etc.)
- SEO
- Content marketing
- Email marketing
- Landing page initiatives
- Develop campaign timelines and ensure adherence to schedules
- Create detailed briefs for internal teams
- Review deliverables before sharing with clients to ensure quality standards
- Ensure brand consistency and alignment with strategy
4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor campaign performance against KPIs
- Analyze data and identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern
- Prepare and present detailed performance reports to clients
- Translate marketing metrics into business insights (leads, revenue impact, CAC, ROI)
- Recommend optimization strategies based on performance data
- Track competitor activity and industry benchmarks
5. Revenue Growth & Account Expansion
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Propose additional services, channels, or campaigns aligned with client growth
- Assist in proposal development and scope expansion
- Work toward revenue and retention targets for assigned accounts
6. Project Management & Internal Coordination
- Act as liaison between clients and internal teams
- Ensure clarity of client requirements through structured briefs
- Coordinate with:
- Media buyers
- Designers
- Content writers
- SEO specialists
- Developers
- Track project progress and manage deadlines
- Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and within scope
7. Quality Assurance
- Review creative assets, copies, and campaign setups before launch
- Ensure accuracy in targeting, messaging, and tracking
- Maintain documentation for all accounts
- Follow internal SOPs and quality standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 23+ years experience in a digital marketing agency or similar client-facing role
- Strong understanding of:
- Performance marketing
- Social media advertising
- SEO fundamentals
- Funnels and lead generation
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret data and convert it into actionable strategy
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with reporting tools and ad platforms
- Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
