Junior Legal Executive

Role Overview

The Junior Legal Executive will be responsible for supporting the organization in ensuring adherence to RBI regulations and the NBFC regulatory framework. The role involves legal drafting, regulatory compliance, internal coordination, and research to strengthen the organizations compliance and governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

1. RBI Regulatory Compliance

• Monitor and track RBI circulars, notifications, master directions, and regulatory updates applicable to NBFCs.
• Assist in implementing RBI regulatory requirements across the organization.
• Support the preparation and updating of policies and internal frameworks (KYC/AML, Fair Practices Code, Outsourcing Policy, Liquidity Risk Management, etc.).
• Assist in regulatory filings, submissions, and correspondence with RBI.
• Maintain records and documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.

2. Legal Drafting and Documentation

• Draft and review agreements, policies, SOPs, legal notices, and internal memos.
• Review operational documents to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Support transaction documentation and commercial agreements, as required.

3. Compliance Monitoring & Internal Coordination

• Coordinate with internal teams (Operations, Finance, Compliance, Risk) for regulatory implementation.
• Maintain compliance trackers, registers, and documentation.
• Support internal audits and regulatory inspections.

4. Legal Research

• Conduct research on RBI regulations, financial sector laws, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare regulatory summaries, briefing notes, and compliance advisories for management.

5. Ancillary Legal Work

• Assist in handling regulatory notices and legal correspondence.
• Support due diligence exercises and documentation management.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel, consultants, and regulatory advisors.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of RBI regulations and NBFC regulatory framework
• Excellent legal drafting and documentation skills
• Strong legal research and analytical abilities
• Ability to interpret regulatory circulars and master directions
• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Legal / Compliance, preferably in NBFC, Banking, or Financial Services.
