Role SummaryWe are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Garment Merchandiser to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the primary coordinator for the product development phase, ensuring that every button, fabric shade, and print strike-off aligns perfectly with our buyers' high standards. You will provide critical support to the Senior Merchandiser, acting as a bridge between the buyers vision and the technical reality of the factory floor.
Key Responsibilities1. Product Sampling & Development- Execute and monitor the end-to-end Sampling Process (Proto, Fit, Ad-spec, and Salesman samples).
- Coordinate with the pattern and sewing rooms to ensure samples are developed accurately and dispatched on schedule.
- Maintain a detailed log of buyer comments and ensure all revisions are implemented in subsequent sample rounds.
- Create comprehensive Trim Sheets based on buyer tech packs.
- Sourcing, planning, and following up on all garment accessories (zippers, buttons, labels, polybags, etc.).
- Verify that all trims meet the physical and chemical safety requirements specified by the brand.
- Manage the submission of Lab Dips and Print Strike-offs to buyers for color and quality approval.
- Analyze color continuity and ensure strike-offs match the required hand-feel and visual aesthetics.
- Maintain an organized library of approved swatches and "Master Samples" for production reference.
- Assist the Senior Merchandiser in preparing Time & Action (T&A) Calendars.
- Update internal ERP systems and tracking sheets daily to reflect current development status.
- Prepare documentation for courier dispatches and track international sample shipments.
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 13 years of experience in garment merchandising (internship experience in high-volume export houses considered).
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and the apparel production lifecycle.
- Communication: Strong command of English (written and verbal) for professional buyer correspondence.
- Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with PLM/ERP software is a plus.
- Eagle Eye for Detail: You notice a 2mm deviation in a print or a slight shade variation in a lab dip.
- Deadline Driven: You understand that in fashion, "on time" is often already late.
- Resilience: Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented when a sample doesn't go as planned.
