Jr. Reporter- (Marathi)

Job Title: Jr. Reporter (Marathi / Hyperlocal)

Location: Mumbai

Role Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and ground-level Mumbai Reporter to cover hyperlocal, civic, and public interest stories across the city. The role demands strong reporting skills, comfort with camera-facing journalism, and the ability to produce quick, accurate news content for digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cover Mumbai-centric stories including:
• Civic issues
• Public issues
• Political developments
• Hyperlocal and neighbourhood news
• BMC-related stories and updates
• Pitch and report exclusive city stories relevant to Mumbai audiences.
• Perform on-ground reporting and field coverage.
• Handle camera-facing reporting (MOJO journalism).
• Record short VO / to-camera explainers for digital platforms.
• Support breaking news and live coverage.
• Coordinate closely with the editorial team.
• Maintain accuracy, balance, and ethical journalism standards.

Language & Skill Requirements:

• Marathi language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) is mandatory.
• Strong reporting and news judgment skills.
• Ability to write crisp, accurate news copies.
• Comfortable with basic camera handling / mobile journalism.
• Confident on-camera presence.
• Good understanding of Mumbais civic ecosystem, especially BMC.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in city / hyperlocal reporting.
• Exposure to digital or video journalism.
• Familiarity with Mumbai's political and civic landscape.
