Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to spearhead cloud platform engineering initiatives, build cloud-agnostic infrastructure solutions, and drive automation across multiple cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Terraform, cloud security, DevOps tooling, and infrastructure orchestration, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to enterprise-level cloud transformation programs.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design and develop cloud-agnostic Control Tower / Landing Zone platforms.

Build Terraform-based reusable IaC frameworks for cloud-native infrastructure provisioning.

Implement continuous observability across various cloud platforms.

Drive best-in-class cloud security posture management and compliance.

Develop tools and reusable codebases to support platform engineering initiatives.

Participate in Cloud & DevOps architecture discussions and solution design.

Mentor junior engineers on coding standards, automation, and DevOps best practices.

Deliver infrastructure platforms and environments across multiple projects.

Document processes, blueprints, and best practices for effective knowledge sharing.

Must-Have Skills

Cloud & DevOps Expertise

Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Deep understanding of compute, networking, storage, IAM, security & integration services.

Experience designing HA/DR architectures adhering to SLAs, RTO, RPO targets.

Infrastructure as Code

Expert-level knowledge of Terraform, Terraform modules, and cloud-native IaC tools.

Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, ARM, CloudFormation, etc.

Strong understanding of AWS CLI, boto3, Azure SDK, and automation scripting.

Containerization & Orchestration

Hands-on experience with Docker & Kubernetes (self-managed clusters, Fargate).

Ability to design container-based application topologies using well-architected principles.

CI/CD & Automation

Expertise in Jenkins, CircleCI, and CI/CD pipelines as code.

Strong scripting abilities (Python, Bash, Shell, Ant).

End-to-end deployment strategy & automation experience.

Monitoring, Logging & Security

Hands-on with tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Log Analytics, ELK/EFK, Splunk, Prometheus, Datadog.

Experience ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.

Additional Required Expertise

Strong OS administration (CPU, memory, network troubleshooting).

Good understanding of:

AWS Networking: VPC, SGs, routing, TGW, VPC peering

Databases: RDS MySQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB, Postgres

Services: S3, NLB, ALB, Route53, API Gateway, WAF, Shield, Lambda, KMS

Experience with artifact repositories (Nexus, JFrog Artifactory).

Qualification

BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent).
