Key Responsibilitie s

• Track stories from our correspondents, news agencies, websites and social media.
• Edit and publish error-free copies in line with The Hindu's style book.
• Coordinate with correspondents, photographers, editorial and non-editorial colleagues
• Write multiple headlines to suit various products and audience.
• Quickly put together breaking news articles with available inputs
• Write and curate articles based on trending topics.
• Brainstorm and execute special coverage.
• Plan and produce pages as part of print team.
• Proofread stories, identify errors, avoid repeat of stories.
• Own up errors, if any, and correct them at the earliest

Required Skills

• Strong command over English and excellent editing/proofreading skills.
• Hands-on experience with social media publishing tools.
• Ability to write crisp, engaging headlines and captions.
• Good news judgment and awareness of current affairs.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and fast-paced environments.
