About the Role

As a Jira Administrator (L2), youll take ownership of our complete Jira ecosystem and ensure it operates efficiently, securely, and at enterprise scale. You will:

Responsibilities

• Govern and manage the Jira environment with best practices
• Design, configure, and optimize complex workflows
• Handle integrations and automation using APIs
• Ensure the tool is structured, scalable, and aligned with business operations

Most importantly you must deeply understand the tool, its architecture, limitations, scalability, and the heaviness of Jira in enterprise environments.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Jira for performance, stability, and scalability.
• Configure projects, workflows, issue types, screens, schemes, and custom fields.
• Implement and enforce Jira governance policies across teams.
• Define and manage user roles, groups, and permission schemes securely.
• Ensure compliance, audit logs, and structured access control.
• Create dashboards, advanced JQL filters, and reporting frameworks.
• Build automation rules to improve process efficiency.
• Handle API integrations and automation scripting for system connectivity.
• Integrate Jira with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understand and manage the complexity and load (heaviness) of Jira in large-scale environments.
• Troubleshoot performance, configuration, and integration issues.
• Train teams on structured and efficient Jira usage.
• Maintain documentation for workflows, governance policies, and configurations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Experience: 3+ years as a Jira Administrator or similar role in enterprise environments.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Jira administration & configurations
• Deep knowledge of workflows, issue types, schemes & screens
• Strong command over JQL and advanced reporting
• Experience in Jira governance frameworks
• Hands-on experience with Jira plugins and marketplace apps
• Experience with Jira API integrations & automation scripting
• Strong understanding of system scalability and performance optimization
• Ability to manage the operational complexity (heaviness) of enterprise Jira setups

Preferred Skills

Experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines

• Knowledge of Bitbucket, Git, Confluence
• Exposure to DevOps environments
• Experience managing large-scale Jira instances
