About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned Java Microservices Lead Developer to join a large-scale strategic modernization initiative within a global Shared Services Technology group. This role involves designing and delivering scalable backend solutions, working closely with distributed agile teams, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust enterprise-grade systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead backend development using Java and Microservices architecture for enterprise applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and distributed services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams across geographies.
• Drive code quality, performance optimization, and best practices.
• Integrate cloud-native services and containerized applications.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and modernization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 8+), J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA.
• Hands-on experience with Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, JSON.
• Experience with Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security).
• Experience with ETL frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Spring Batch, Apache Camel.
• Strong SQL knowledge (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and exposure to Snowflake.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably Cosmos DB.
• Cloud experience, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS).
• Experience with Kafka or other enterprise messaging systems.
• Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to UI technologies like ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience in Banking / Financial Services domain.
• Strong understanding of build tools (Maven, Gradle) and SCM tools (Git).
• Knowledge of DB performance tuning.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with job scheduling tools like Control-M.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.
• Experience with incident, change, and escalation management.
• Exposure to ServiceNow.
• Strong Unix/Linux command-line and scripting knowledge.
• Experience troubleshooting common database and production issues.
