Role Overview

We are hiring a Java Backend Developer with strong experience in travel technology , specifically in flight booking engines, reservation portals, and Air/GDS API integrations .

You will work on building and maintaining high-performance backend systems that power B2B travel workflows, including PNR creation, fare rules, pricing, ticketing, and supplier integrations .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Java (OpenJDK 1721) and Spring Boot
• Build and maintain backend services for flight booking engines, PNR operations, and dynamic rule engines
• Integrate GDS systems (Amadeus / Sabre / Galileo) for flight search, pricing, booking, ticketing, and PNR retrieval
• Work with Air APIs, NDC, LCCs, consolidators , and other third-party travel suppliers
• Parse and process XML / JSON responses from supplier systems efficiently
• Design, optimize, and maintain schemas in MySQL 8.4 / Aurora MySQL
• Implement secure, scalable business logic following SOLID principles
• Coordinate with frontend (React) and QA teams for seamless end-to-end booking workflows
• Test and validate APIs using Postman and unit/integration testing
• Maintain API documentation, workflows, and data models
• Ensure secure file transfers using WinSCP (FTP/SFTP)

Must-Have Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
• 2+ years mandatory experience in Travel / Hospitality / Reservation Systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 1721 (OpenJDK)
• Solid expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA
• Strong experience with MySQL 8.4 / Aurora MySQL (queries, indexing, optimization)
• Proven experience integrating GDS APIs (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo SOAP/REST)

Strong understanding of:

• PNR creation & retrieval
• Fare rules & pricing logic
• SSRs (Special Service Requests)
• Ticket issuance workflows
• Experience working with Postman , Eclipse IDE / VS Code
• Strong understanding of REST architecture , error handling, pagination
• Candidate must be based in Ahmedabad

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS RDS / Aurora
• Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Experience working in high-traffic, real-time booking systems
• Background in airline technology or major travel tech platforms (e.g., TBO)
