Java Application Support Engineer (Australia shifts)
Location: Bangalore / Pune
Mode: Hybrid
Shift: Australian shifts - IST (5:30am to 2:30pm)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Support Engineer with 3-5 years of experience supporting Java and Java Script based web applications in production environments. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, hands-on experience troubleshooting front-end and backend issues, and the ability to work closely with engineering teams to ensure application stability, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2L3 support for Java and JavaScript based web applications in production and pre-production environments
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve application issues related to Java backend services and JavaScript front-end components
- Monitor application health, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Work closely with development teams to diagnose defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes or workarounds
- Support API integrations, service failures, and data-related issues Perform production deployments, hotfixes, and configuration changes as required Create and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and incident reports
- Participate in on-call rotations and handle incident escalations within SLA timelines
- Assist in improving system stability, performance, and operational processes Required
Skills Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in application support or production support roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and JavaScript based applications
- Working knowledge of Java frameworks e.g., Spring, Spring Boot and JavaScript frameworks React, Angular, or Vue.js from a support perspective
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and asynchronous processing
- Experience analysing logs, stack traces, and error reports to identify root causes
- Familiarity with Linux Unix environments and basic command-line operations
- Experience with Git and issue-tracking tools Jira or similar Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
- Preferred Nice to Have Experience with production monitoring and logging tools Splunk, ELK, Datadog, New Relic, etc.
- Exposure to CICD pipelines and release management processes
- Experience supporting microservices-based Java applications
- Familiarity with database troubleshooting SQL basics, query analysis
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
- Understanding of ITIL processes incident, problem, change management
