IT Workflow Automation Developer

As an IT Workflow Automation Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the digital glue that connects our corporate infrastructure. Youll focus on automating IT operationsspecifically around user lifecycle management, security orchestration, and SaaS governance. By leveraging tools like Okta Workflows, BetterCloud, and n8n, you will reduce manual overhead for the IT team, eliminate human error, and ensure our systems scale seamlessly as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Build & Optimize: Develop and maintain complex automation workflows to streamline IT processes such-as onboarding/offboarding, access requests, and system provisioning.
• Platform Integration: Manage and monitor connections between core IT systems (e.g., Identity Providers, HRIS, Slack, and SaaS applications) using native and generic automation tools.
• Problem Solve: Act as a tier-2/3 support resource for automation failures, identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes to ensure 99.9% reliability.
• Collaborate: Partner with IT Security, HR, and Engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into logical, scalable technical workflows.
• Document: Maintain rigorous documentation of scenario logic, API endpoints, and workflow dependencies to ensure the IT environment is auditable and transparent.
• Innovate: Constantly audit existing manual IT tasks to identify new opportunities for automation and process optimization.

• Analytical Mindset: You enjoy deconstructing a manual 20-step process and rebuilding it into a single, elegant automated trigger.
• Technical Communication: You can explain a "webhook failure" to a fellow dev and "system downtime" to a non-technical stakeholder with equal clarity.
• Detail Obsessed: You understand that in IT automation, a single misplaced variable can impact company-wide access, so you test thoroughly and move with precision.
• Continuous Learner: You stay ahead of the curve on new API releases and emerging automation platforms.

Education

• Bachelors Degree: Information Systems, Computer Science, IT Management, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 13 years in IT Operations, System Administration, or Workflow Automation.
• Tooling Proficiency: Direct experience with Okta Workflows, BetterCloud, or low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., n8n, Make, Power Automate) is highly preferred.
• Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of JSON, REST APIs, and authentication protocols (OAuth, API Keys).
• IT Foundations: Familiarity with SaaS management and Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles.
