IT Operations Specialist

We are looking for a proactive System Administrator to support our trading operations in Mumbai. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the office and trading infrastructure are fully operational before the trading day begins. This includes maintaining systems, resolving issues before they impact users, and making sure the environment is stable and ready for traders and internal teams.

You will work closely with the broader IT Operations team and collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security specialists globally. The role requires a hands-on mindset, strong ownership, and the ability to independently identify and resolve technical issues.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking responsibility for the reliability of an environment, proactively improving systems, and ensuring everything runs smoothly in a fast-paced trading setting.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the reliability and day-to-day operation of the Mumbai office IT environment.
• Ensure all systems, workstations, and infrastructure are fully operational and ready before traders arrive each morning.
• Provide L1 support for internal teams on hardware, software, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Onboard new colleagues by setting up and configuring equipment, accounts, and access to systems.
• Perform both remote and on-site troubleshooting to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Proactively monitor the environment to detect potential problems before they impact users.
• Perform regular system checks and preventive maintenance to maintain stability and performance.
• Carry out periodic audits to ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.
• Automate, standardize, and document IT processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and manage the lifecycle of hardware and software across the office.
• Support activities within local data centers and coordinate with vendors when required.
• Work closely with other IT teams to resolve infrastructure issues and continuously improve the environment.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, engineering, ICT, or a related field.
• Experience working with Microsoft technologies including Windows 11, Windows Server, Active Directory, Intune, and Entra ID.
• Experience setting up and supporting end-user workstations and office IT infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently resolve technical issues.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Kerberos.
• Basic knowledge of Linux systems.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible is a plus.
• Experience with virtualization platforms is advantageous.
• Good communication skills in Hindi are preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive mindset with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
