Job Description
An Application Delivery Lead plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the delivery of software applications within an organization. Here’s a general overview of the responsibilities and qualifications typically associated with this role:
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of application projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and deadlines.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of developers, testers, and other IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all applications meet quality standards and are thoroughly tested before deployment.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical direction and support to the team, helping to resolve complex issues and make informed decisions.
- Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success and manage any potential risks or issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance application delivery.
Delivery Leads are expected to play a critical role with our Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). With duties including but not limited to:
- Assist in cost estimations including all delivery teams, license costs, support costs and any other costs.
- Review Stories at a high-level
- Participate in and support req / discovery
- Communicate to extended team the project objectives and their roles.
- Communicate options and recommendations to project team.
- Ensure Design is on schedule.
- Remove roadblocks that prevent design from being completed.
- Ensure build is on schedule.
- Collaborate with CoEs to Ensure code coverage isn’t reduced.
- Start deployment planning
- Collaborate with the business and testers on testing scenarios.
- Improve the quality of the test cases
- Work with CoEs to start KT and run support transition
- Conduct Retrospectives
- Ensure all teams have a comprehensive deployment plan
- Ensure documentation is in place
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Several years of experience in application development and delivery, with a proven track record of leading successful projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant programming languages, development frameworks, and tools. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is often required.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or Agile certifications can be advantageous.
