SCOPE OF ROLE The Salesforce Release & Dev Ops is responsible for managing end-to-end release processes and implementing robust DevOps practices within the Salesforce ecosystem. Leveraging Flosum as the primary DevOps platform, this role ensures secure, efficient, and SOX-compliant delivery pipelines across development, QA, and production environments. Reporting to the Sr. Technical Architect, this position works closely with Scrum Masters, Business Systems Analysts, QA, Developers, Admins, Product Owners, and Project Managers to orchestrate releases. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Release Management & Governance • Plan, coordinate, and oversee Salesforce releases across multiple projects and environments. • Maintain a structured release calendar aligned with Agile sprints and Salesforce seasonal updates in partnership with Product Operations team. • Ensure SOX-compliant release governance, including approvals, audit trails, and immutable logs. • Validate release readiness and ensure release notes prepared by Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) are accurate and complete. • Conduct impact assessments and risk scoring for all change requests; maintain rollback/recovery plans. • Participate in DAR (Design Approval Review) and CAB (Change Advisory Board) processes to ensure all releases meet governance, compliance, and risk assessment standards before deployment. • Manage off-cycle releases by coordinating approvals, scheduling, and execution outside the standard release calendar while maintaining compliance and minimizing business disruption. • Work closely with Scrum Masters and Project Managers to align release schedules with sprint planning and project timelines. DevOps & Automation • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Flosum, Salesforce CLI, and Git-based workflows. • Automate deployments and enforce quality gates (static code analysis, unit test coverage, security scans). • Manage version control and branching strategies (feature, hotfix, release branches) across multi-org environment. • Define sandbox refresh cadence and environment synchronization, leverage scratch orgs for isolated development. • Implement modular architecture using Unlocked Packages for scalability and maintainability. Compliance & Audit Readiness • Maintain deployment documentation, change logs, and evidence for audit readiness. • Enforce segregation of duties and peer review for SOX compliance. • Ensure all processes adhere to SOX controls, including structured approval workflows. Monitoring & Metrics • Monitor post-release performance, error tracking, and rollback readiness. • Track and report DevOps KPIs and DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate). Collaboration & Quality Assurance • Facilitate peer reviews and enforce coding standards. • Communicate release status and risks to stakeholders proactively. Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation. • Stay current with Salesforce DevOps best practices and Flosum capabilities. • Drive adoption of secure coding and deployment practices aligned with compliance requirements. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years of experience in Salesforce DevOps and release management. • Hands-on experience with Flosum, Salesforce CLI, and Git workflows. • Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture, metadata, and packaging strategies. • Proven experience implementing SOX-compliant release processes.
