Key Responsibilities

Analyze, develop, and enhance iSeries (AS400) applications supporting retail business processes
Create and maintain functional and technical specifications using standard SDLC practices
Perform code reviews, unit testing, and coordinate development and QA activities
Collaborate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and QA teams to ensure clear and accurate requirements
Participate in estimation, release planning, and deployment activities
Provide 2nd-level production support, resolve incident tickets, and create KB articles for 1st-level support
Participate in on-call support and ensure system stability
Conduct peer code reviews to ensure scalability, reuse, and adherence to best practices
Continuously enhance technical, business, and domain knowledge

Must Have Skills

Strong programming experience on IBM iSeries / AS400
Proficiency in RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, CLP / CLLE
Excellent knowledge of SQL concepts , including complex queries, embedded SQL, and cursor programming
Strong database knowledge:
Physical Files, Logical Files
SQL Tables, Indexes, Views, Stored Procedures
Hands-on experience with Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer Files
Experience documenting business rules and creating data mapping documents
ILE programming experience: modules, service programs, binding directories
Working knowledge of MQ, MQ Triggers , and embedding XML in RPG programs
Strong communication skills with ability to independently own and deliver assigned tasks

Good to Have Skills

Experience with Turnover (configuration management tool)
Working knowledge of X-Analysis (cross-reference tool for iSeries)
Knowledge of Triggers and Message Queuing for inter-program or inter-system communication
Experience with ROBOT Job Scheduler for creating and managing scheduled jobs
Understanding of normalized / denormalized databases and Star Schema
Experience using iSeries Navigator for query execution and SQL performance analysis
Retail domain experience, especially with Lawson ERP, Finance, and Membership systems
