Irrigation Design Engineer

Experience Range: 3+ years

Qualification: Bachelor of Civil Engineering/ Technology

Main Role Responsibilities:

• Understanding of the Project requirements for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Irrigation
• Coordination with Landscape team and understanding landscape plan.
• Demand calculations (ET) as per the regional standards.
• Knowledge of Drip Irrigation and Sprinkler Irrigation system.
• Zoning including selection of irrigation devices and irrigation time.
• Irrigation scheduling
• Hydraulic design of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Irrigation networks using Water GEMS software.
• Calculating irrigation pumping requirements
• Design of irrigation tanks piping.
• Support lead teams on Irrigation modelling and engineering.
• Develop base models, collaborate with onsite teams for model input data, operational details.
• Prepare pipe profiles using Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of design for Trees, Shrubs, Ground cover and Lawn irrigation network.Basic Knowledge of Automation SCADA system
• Preparation of BoQ and specifications.
• Collaboration with other disciplines and ensuring necessary integration and alignment with other utilities.
• Undertaking project tasks and engineering design at various stages in the project life cycle, while ensuring technical excellence and best practice to specification.
• Provide input to Designers / Draftsmen for preparation of drawings, review/check the drawings and guide the designers/draftsmen.
• Interact / coordinate with other disciplines for input, other information as required for completion of work.
• Coordination with BIM modeler for other utilities, clash analysis and resolution.
• Maintain high work standards, minimise production errors and attention to detail.
• Supply information for use in Coordination Meetings and attend as required.

Key Software:

• WaterGEMS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, ArcGIS Pro/ QGIS; LandFx

Experience:

• 3-8 years of project delivery experience in Tertiary Irrigation projects

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering/ Technology

Preferred

• Post Graduate degree in Environmental Engineering/ Water Resources/Irrigation or equivalent
