Investment Manager- Venture Capital
Role Overview
The Principal Venture Capital role is a senior investment professional position offering a strong pathway toward partnership. The role involves managing a diversified portfolio of 2025 companies, providing strategic direction and operational guidance to drive growth and market leadership.
In addition, the Principal will execute 1215 new investments annually, identifying high-quality opportunities aligned with the funds investment thesis. The role also includes active participation in fundraising initiatives, developing pipelines for limited partners, and maintaining strong relationships with institutional and large investors.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
Strategic Oversight:
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of 2025 companies.
- Provide strategic direction and operational guidance to achieve growth and performance targets.
KPI Management:
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Make data-driven decisions to support portfolio company performance.
Follow-on Rounds:
- Lead and manage follow-on funding rounds.
- Ensure portfolio companies are prepared for subsequent capital raises.
Legal Oversight:
- Oversee shareholder agreements, term sheets, and related legal documentation.
- Maintain strong understanding of valuation adjustments and dilution implications.
Investment Execution
Deal Sourcing & Evaluation:
- Identify and evaluate 1215 new investment opportunities annually.
- Focus on sectors such as B2B SaaS, FinTech, and DeepTech.
Market Research & Financial Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth market research and financial due diligence.
- Evaluate business models, scalability, and financial viability.
Deal Structuring & Negotiation:
- Structure and negotiate transactions aligned with investment objectives and return criteria.
Fundraising & Investor Relations
LP Engagement:
- Prepare detailed investor reports and performance updates.
- Engage with existing and prospective limited partners.
Fundraising Support:
- Actively participate in fundraising initiatives.
- Develop new investor pipelines and maintain strong institutional relationships.
Team Leadership
Mentorship:
- Lead and mentor junior investment professionals.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
Operational Efficiency:
- Ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Drive disciplined investment and portfolio management processes.
Qualifications
Education:
- MBA in Finance or Chartered Accountancy (mandatory).
- Strong academic foundation in financial modeling and investment analysis.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Venture Capital or Private Equity.
- Proven track record in deal sourcing, due diligence, financial analysis, negotiation, and portfolio management.
- Experience managing multiple investments annually.
