ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a proactive and driven Investment Associate with 2-5 years of experience to join our team. This role will focus on identifying, engaging, and closing Media for Equity deals with early-stage startups, managing deal execution, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and driving strategic partnerships to fuel brand growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Outreach & Lead Generation: Identify and connect with high-potential startups in D2C, Consumer Brands, FinTech, Mobility, and related sectors, leveraging ZMGC’s value proposition to initiate partnerships.
• Sales: Pitch ZMGC’s Media for Equity model, negotiate deal terms, and secure agreements using convertible notes/warrants, ensuring fair value discovery.
• Deal Execution: Prepare term sheets, draft and negotiate shareholders’ agreements and ad agreements, liaise closely with legal and finance teams, and drive due diligence processes to evaluate startup viability and alignment.
• Business Development: Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective startup partners, fostering relationships to drive deal flow and expand market reach.
• Internal Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Zee Innovation Studio, marketing, strategy, and editorial teams to align media asset deployment with startup needs, ensuring seamless campaign execution.
• Strategic Partnership Development: Work with startups to co-create customized content-led marketing solutions, including thought leadership campaigns, joint IPs, and brand spotlights, to maximize brand impact.
• Data-Driven Insights: Utilize analytics to measure campaign effectiveness, optimize strategies, and provide startups with actionable insights to enhance ROI.
• Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscapes to position ZMGC as the preferred media partner for startups.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-5 years of experience in investment, business development, or partnerships, preferably in media, advertising, or startup ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of startup dynamics, early-stage financing, and brand-building strategies.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to pitch complex deals to founders and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with experience leveraging data to drive decisions.
• Familiarity with media assets (TV, digital, social, OTT) and content marketing is a plus.
• Experience with term sheet preparation, due diligence, or legal agreements is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
