Role Overview
The Art & Design Intern will support the interior design and production team in the conceptualization, development, and execution of artistic artifacts and decorative elements for interior projects including hotels, restaurants, commercial spaces, residences, and themed environments.
This role is ideal for JJ School of Art students/Raheja school of arts / Le marks or graduates seeking hands-on exposure to applied art in interior environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Concept Development & Artistic Design
- Assist in developing concept sketches, mood boards & design themes
- Translate design concepts into artistic decor elements
- Work on color studies, textures, finishes & form exploration
2. Artifact & Decorative Production
- Create handcrafted artifacts, sculptures, wall panels, murals, installations & props
- Work with materials such as:
- Clay, plaster, wood, metal, resin, fiber, fabric, glass
- Recycled & mixed media
- Assist in prototyping, model-making & mockups
3. Studio & Workshop Support
- Support senior artists & designers in production tasks
- Maintain tools, materials & workshop cleanliness
- Document work through photography & process notes
4. Site & Project Assistance
- Assist in installation of decor elements on-site
- Coordinate with interior designers, carpenters & fabricators
- Ensure finishing quality & artistic intent is maintained
5. Research & Trend Development
- Research global trends in art, decor, materials & techniques
- Develop material libraries & finish samples
Desired Skills & Qualities
- Strong drawing & sketching skills
- Basic knowledge of sculpture, model making & craft techniques
- Creative thinking & problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to work with hands-on production
- Good sense of color, composition & spatial awareness
- Basic proficiency in design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp preferred)
Eligibility
- Student / Graduate from Sir J. J. School of Art or equivalent art institution
- Specialization in Fine Arts, Sculpture, Applied Arts, Visual Arts, or Craft Design
