Internet of Things Engineer

We are looking for an IoT Engineer who can take ownership of our connected devices program end-to-end:designing and developing IoT products/solutions (GPS tracking, CCTV/video telematics, sensors and related systems),integrating hardware + firmware + cloud , and ensuring successfuldeployment, installation, and lifecycle maintenance across our fleet and sites.

This role requires strong technical depth to architect and build solutions, plus practical execution skills to work with suppliers and implement systems on-ground.

• Design IoT product architecture: device hardware, firmware, connectivity, cloud ingestion, dashboards, alerts, and integrations.
• Define product requirements/specs: use-cases, performance targets, reliability, environmental constraints, and cost/BOM.
• Work onembedded firmware and device-side development (MCU/Linux/Android-based devices depending on product needs).
• Develop or integrate backend services/APIs for device management, telemetry, alerts, and reporting.
• Build device provisioning workflows (device identity, secure onboarding, remote configuration, OTA firmware updates).
• Ensure security-by-design: secure communication, authentication, access control, and data protection.
• Prototype, test, and validate solutions (bench testing + field trials); perform RCA and implement design fixes.
  

• Evaluate and onboard suppliers/integrators: technical assessment, sampling, negotiation, SLA and support model.
• Plan deployments for GPS trackers, cameras, sensors, gateways, and supporting infrastructure.
• Visit sites for surveys, pilot rollout, commissioning, and troubleshooting (travel required).
• Own installation quality: mounting, wiring/power, connectivity, camera placement, calibration, and acceptance testing.
• Maintain lifecycle ops: preventive maintenance, failure analysis, replacements/RMA, and uptime tracking.
  

• Maintain technical documentation: wiring diagrams, SOPs, installation guidelines, test plans, and release notes.
• Coordinate with Operations/Fleet/Security/IT on rollout plans, access, timelines, and adoption.
• Track deployments, device inventory (serials/SIMs), platform access, and status reports.
  

• Strong hands-on experience (typically 38 years, flexible) inIoT product development and real-world deployments.
• Solid understanding of:
• IoT architecture (device connectivity cloud application)
• GPS/telematics and/or CCTV/video systems (streaming, storage, platform integration)
• Connectivity: SIM/4G/5G, APN concepts, Wi-Fi/LAN basics, protocols (MQTT/HTTP/TCP/IP)
• Firmware/embedded experience (any relevant stack):
• C/C++ (MCU), Embedded Linux, or Android device customization
• Debugging with logs, serial console, basic instrumentation
• Backend/API fundamentals:
• REST APIs, data ingestion pipelines, device telemetry handling
• Databases/time-series data basics (experience preferred)
• Practical field ability:
• Power/wiring basics (vehicle and site), installation practices, troubleshooting in real conditions
• Vendor management + strong communication and documentation skills.
  

• OTA update frameworks, device fleet management, remote monitoring/MDM concepts
• Video telematics platforms, NVR/DVR basics, camera standards, streaming optimization
• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization, CI/CD, observability
• Security knowledge (TLS, certs/keys, secure boot, encryption at rest/in transit)
• Experience designing for compliance/safety (automotive/site safety practices)
  

• Working prototypes converted into reliable, scalable products.
• Smooth deployments with high uptime and strong field performance.
• Reduced vendor dependency via in-house technical ownership and documentation.

• Travel: Regular travel to sites for surveys, pilots, deployments, and escalations.
