About Us

MetFlux Research is creating the meX ecosystem, a new platform that helps improve health by using systems biology, multi-omics analytics, and computer modeling.

Our data curation team supports MetSights Personalization, a core module powering practitioner-grade risk interpretation, multi omics-based insights of physiology, and precise health recommendations.

We designed this internship for individuals seeking to work at the intersection of data preparation, database curation and physiological network generation.

Role Overview

As an intern in Biocuration and Data Preparation, you will work closely with our scientists to prepare data for personalization and curate all required databases for models that support MetFluxs meX ecosystem in areas of personalization, precision medicine, and physiology-based modeling.

Your work will directly contribute to:

• Generate personalized health reports
• Create physiology-based models for personalization
• Validation of models and pipelines biologically

This role is ideal for fresh graduates who are detail-oriented, research-driven, and excited to create real-world solutions using various clinical data.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare data for processing using MetFluxs meX platform to generate personalized insights and provide recommendations.
• Curate biological relationships between various biological markers and pathophysiology by thorough literature review and public databases.
• Summarize biological mechanisms, regulatory effects, and marker-pathway interactions relevant to precision health.
• Documentation of data and databases aligned with MetFlux standards.
• Support senior scientists in building physiology interpretation layers for the meX knowledge graph and MetSights Precision modules.

Who Were Looking For

Education:

• Completed graduation (BTech/ BS/ BSc) in biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.

Core Competencies:

• Strong understanding of biological mechanisms and different pathophysiologies.
• Deep knowledge in the pathophysiology of metabolic disorders, gut, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret scientific literature, especially mechanistic and clinical studies.
• Ability to simplify and translate complex mechanisms into simple modules.
• Strong scientific writing and structured summarization skills.
• High attention to detail, consistency, and data accuracy.

Nice to Have:

• Possessing knowledge in data presentation, mechanistic network visual creation, and other biological visualizations would be beneficial.
• Exposure to computational models and basic programming in MATLAB, at least to prepare data accordingly.
• This role requires a curiosity-driven, analytical mindset and evidence-based thinking.
