Intern - Data Analyst

Job Title: Automation & Data Intern Health Insurance Operations

Location: Gurgaon

Type: Internship (Fulltime, 3 months, with possibility of extension based on performance)

Role summary:

The Automation & Data Intern will work closely with the operations and claims teams to identify manual, repetitive activities and convert them into automated, datadriven solutions. The role involves building Pythonbased tools, SQL queries, dashboards and basic ML prototypes to improve efficiency, accuracy and turnaround time in daytoday processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze operational workflows such as claims processing, pre-authorization, reconciliations and MIS reporting to identify automation and process optimization opportunities.
• Develop and maintain Python-based automation for data cleaning, file handling (Excel/CSV/PDF), report generation and other repetitive manual tasks, integrating with APIs and third-party tools where required.
• Write, optimize and manage SQL queries, joins, views and stored procedures to extract, transform and analyze data from internal databases, supporting dashboards and reports.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and build dashboards using visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, Streamlit, etc.) to identify trends, anomalies and operational bottlenecks.
• Support advanced analytics initiatives by implementing basic ML models for POCs, maintaining version control with Git, monitoring automation jobs, troubleshooting issues, and preparing documentation, SOPs and user guides for smooth rollout and adoption.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Fresh graduate / finalyear student in B.Tech / BE / BSc / BCA / MCA or related field (Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or similar).
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL / SQL Server, etc.).
• Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, NumPy, requests, etc.) and comfort with writing clean, modular code.
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with nontechnical business users.
