Job Description

Hiring: AGM SGM | Interior Design (Bangalore)

Department: Design & Product Development

Location: Bangalore

Reports to: Head of Design

Role Level: AGM / DGM / GM / SGM (Interior Design)

Role Objective

Were looking for a senior Interior Design leader who can shape world-class, timeless spaces while driving functional excellence, design innovation, and seamless collaboration across teams.

This role requires a strong design vision, deep understanding of user behaviour, and the ability to lead high-impact projects end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

1 Strategic Design Leadership

  • Create future-ready, timeless interior spaces aligned with global standards.
  • Understand user behaviour, market trends, and customer aspirations to guide design decisions.
  • Influence architectural layouts, spatial planning, and fenestration to optimise aesthetics + functionality.
  • Build strategies to manage budgets, timelines, workforce planning, and scope adjustments.
  • Evaluate feasibility of in-house execution vs external consultants.
  • Benchmark all design outputs against international standards.

2 Functional Excellence Design Ideation

  • Lead the creation of aesthetic, practical, unified design concepts for large-scale developments.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, CRM and other internal teams to integrate customer needs.
  • Facilitate brainstorming and concept development sessions.
  • Review zoning, layouts, colour themes, services placement, and design presentations.
  • Train teams to defend design concepts under scrutiny.

3 Execution & Delivery Oversight

  • Act as the SPOC for interior design on assigned projects.
  • Guide preparation of design briefs, project scopes, and requirements for consultants.
  • Validate BOQs, material selections, and budgets in collaboration with cost teams.
  • Track timelines, budgets, scope deviations, and escalate when needed.
  • Ensure continuous coordination with MEP, architecture, structure, infra, and project execution.
  • Supervise drawings across all stages and review information readiness before vendor release.
  • Conduct site visits and respond to RFIs.
  • Handle additional scope approvals and documentation.
  • Maintain working understanding of all allied design disciplines.

4 Consultant Management

  • Maintain an updated roster of top-tier design consultants.
  • Oversee technical evaluations, comparative analyses, and consultant recommendations.
  • Manage consultant contracts, scope amendments, and timely invoicing with Finance.

5 Research, Development & Innovation

  • Drive a culture of design innovation, new materials exploration, and tech adoption.
  • Ensure team proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3DS Max, Excel, PowerPoint and related tools.
  • Stay updated on global interior design trends and evaluate relevance.

6 Documentation & Process Management

  • Oversee meticulous documentation across concept, design iterations, decisions, and scope changes.
  • Maintain trackers for design progress, timelines, deliverables, and cashflow.
  • Ensure complete documentation readiness during handover/takeover phases.

7 People Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing interior design team.
  • Set clear goals, review performance constructively, and upskill team members.
  • Identify training needs and ensure continuous competency development.

8 Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with internal teams: Design, Controls, Legal, Finance, PMO, Quality, CRM, HR, Marketing, Facilities, Procurement, Safety & more.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders: consultants, vendors, contractors.
