Position Overview

ARCH College of Design & Business is inviting applications for a Faculty Interior Design to join its School of Interior Design. We are looking for a creative and committed academic professional with strong design and technical expertise, teaching experience, and a passion for mentoring young designers.

The role involves delivering theory and studio-based learning, guiding students through design thinking and execution, and contributing to the academic and creative culture of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct theory and studio classes in interior design, space planning, furniture design, materials & finishes, building services, and working drawings

Prepare and update course content, teaching materials, and project briefs as per curriculum

Guide students in design development, model making, drafting, and visualization

Evaluate student work and provide constructive academic feedback

Mentor students in portfolio development and final-year thesis / design projects

Organize and support site visits, guest lectures, workshops, and academic activities

Collaborate with faculty for interdisciplinary and research-based projects

Participate in curriculum development, academic reviews, and department meetings

Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and sustainable design practices

Contribute to exhibitions, events, and institutional academic initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Design / Interior Architecture / Architecture from a recognized institute

25 years of academic or professional industry experience in interior design or related fields

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Adobe Suite, etc.

Strong conceptual, design, and technical drawing skills

Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring abilities

Strong interest in teaching, creativity, and design education

Preferred Attributes

Experience in sustainable design, furniture design, lighting design, or spatial research

Ability to guide students in detailing, model making, and visualization techniques

Exposure to academic research, exhibitions, or design competitions

Interest in innovative teaching methods and emerging design technologies
