Integration (Kafka & webMethods) Software Engineer -

We are hiring a Software Engineer Integration (SFIA Level 3) with strong hands-on experience in Apache Kafka and working knowledge of the webMethods integration stack. The role focuses on building, supporting, and enhancing API-led and event-driven integrations across enterprise platforms. You will work under broad guidance and contribute to scalable, production-grade integration solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and configure Kafka-centric integration services using webMethods platform components.
2. Design and build Kafka producers and consumers; manage topics, partitions, schemas, and message formats.
3. Implement event-driven integration flows using Kafka as the primary messaging backbone.
4. Build integrations using webMethods Integration Server, Designer, and webMethods.io.
5. Work with webMethods API Gateway for API exposure and policy enforcement.
6. Support messaging integrations using Universal Messaging (UM).
7. Contribute to B2B integrations using Trading Networks.
8. Support caching and distributed processing using Terracotta where required.
9. Debug and resolve integration defects and production incidents.
10. Follow reusable integration patterns and platform standards.
11. Contribute to low-level design documentation.
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for scalable integrations.
13. Maintain reusable assets and technical documentation.
14. Participate in Agile ceremonies and DevOps practices.
15. Provide standby support when required.
16. Ensure compliance with FCA Conduct Rules and Customer Conduct Framework standards.

Requirements

1. 36 years of integration development experience.
2. Strong hands-on Apache Kafka experience (producers, consumers, topics, partitions, schemas).
3. Production experience with Kafka-based implementations.
4. Hands-on experience with webMethods Integration Server and webMethods Designer.
5. Experience with webMethods API Gateway.
6. Exposure to Universal Messaging (UM).
7. Working knowledge of Trading Networks.
8. Basic exposure to Terracotta.
9. Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
10. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
11. Experience working in Agile delivery teams.

Good to Have

1. Experience with webMethods.io.
2. Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
3. Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
4. Knowledge of API gateways and monitoring tools.
