Job Description:

We are seeking a technically proficient and business-aware Integration Engineer to support and evolve our integration landscape. This role will work closely with business teams to understand integration requirements, design workflows, and implement scalable integration patterns using AWS-native services. While our core iPaaS platform is MuleSoft, we are expanding our footprint with AWS-based integrations to improve agility and reduce platform costs. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and building RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and backend integration services using AWS tools such as API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, and Step Functions. They should be capable of building the foundational patterns for AWS-native integrations, then maintaining and iteratively enhancing them in collaboration with other teams. Strong communication skills, solution architecture awareness, and the ability to work across business and technical boundaries are key. A strong sense of ownership and a sense of humor are both required.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

Proficient in designing and developing integrations using AWS services (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS/SNS)

Hands-on experience with REST API design, development, and lifecycle management

Strong Python and/or Node.js development skills for API and backend logic

Understanding of JSON-based integrations and secure API patterns

Ability to create solution architecture diagrams using Draw.io, Lucidchart, or similar

Strong understanding of authentication/authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, or API key management

Experience working with business stakeholders to translate integration needs into actionable technical designs

Comfortable working in containerized Linux-based environments and CI/CD workflows

Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and work across a hybrid integration landscape (AWS + MuleSoft)

Must have a sense of humor

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MuleSoft or other enterprise integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, SnapLogic, Azure Integration Services)

Familiarity with GraphQL, Webhooks, and event-driven integration patterns

Background in microservices, containerization (e.g., Fargate, ECS, or EKS), and service discovery

Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK)

Exposure to common SaaS and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Workday, SAP) and their integration patterns

Experience building reusable integration components or frameworks

Knowledge of AWS Transfer Family, S3, or other file-based integration approaches

Understanding of system observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) for integration flows

Experience working in regulated environments with compliance requirements

Familiarity with Secrets Manager, KMS, and secure credential handling
