Position Overview

Join IIMBx, the digital learning powerhouse of IIM Bangalore, as an Instructional Designer

and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of online education. In this dynamic position,

you'll collaborate closely with renowned professors to transform their expertise into

engaging, interactive courses that resonate with diverse audiences across generations

from tech-savvy Gen Z learners to seasoned professionals. If you're passionate about

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Faculty Experts: Partner with IIMB professors to deeply

understand their content, capturing both explicit knowledge and unspoken insights,

nuances, and pedagogical intentions to design courses that authentically reflect

their vision.

Collaborate with Pedagogical Research Associates: Partner with PRAs to help

improve the design of courses from an instructional design point of view.

Course Design and Development: Translate complex academic material into

vibrant, multimedia-rich online courses using instructional design principles,

incorporating elements like videos, interactive quizzes, simulations, and

gamification to ensure high engagement and retention.

Audience-Centric Adaptation: Tailor course content and delivery for varied

generations, considering diverse learning styles, cultural contexts, andtechnological proficiencies to make education inclusive and effective for global

learners.

Innovation in Digital Learning: Stay abreast of emerging edtech trends, tools, and

best practices to enhance course vibrancy, such as integrating AI-driven

personalization or immersive VR elements where appropriate.

Impact Measurement: Analyze learner feedback, engagement metrics, and

outcomes to refine designs and contribute to IIMBx's mission of transformative

education.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education

Technology, Educational Psychology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g.,

in eLearning design or ADDIE model) are a plus.

Experience: 8+ years in instructional design, preferably in higher education or

online learning environments. Experience working with academic faculty or in

MOOC development is highly desirable.

Strong application of ADDIE, Backward Design, and Blooms Taxonomy

Sound understanding of online pedagogy, adult learning principles, and experiential

learning

Expertise in assessment design, including:

Objective assessments (MCQs) o Case-based and scenario-based

assessments o Peer learning and peer assessment

Slide & Visual Authoring

Microsoft PowerPoint (Advanced Slide Master, layouts, instructional

animations)

Google Slides (collaborative content development)

Canva (Education/Pro infographics, course visuals, thumbnails)

Interactive Content Authoring

H5P (interactive videos, presentations, quizzes)

Articulate Rise (mobile-first, microlearning content)

Articulate Storyline (branched scenarios, simulations)

Video Creation & Editing (good to have)

Camtasia (screen recording, lecture editing)

OBS Studio (lecture capture, multi-source recording)

Adobe Premiere Pro (working knowledge)

Adobe After Effects (awareness)

Increase learner engagement and participation o Manage

Experience supporting faculty in:

Converting classroom pedagogy to effective online delivery o Structuring

live sessions for MOOCs, blended programs, and faculty development

initiatives

AI-Enabled Authoring Tools

ChatGPT (learning objectives, assessment drafting, script refinement)

Grammarly (academic tone and clarity)

Ethical and responsible use of AI in learning design

Behavioural skills

Strong empathy and communication abilities to interpret "said and unsaid"

sentiments from professors and stakeholders.
