Skills
- University degree or commensurate professional experience required.
- 7-10 years prior professional experience in higher education, learning design and development, or teaching or facilitation experience within higher ed or other complex learning settings -- or comparable practical and professional experiences.
- Knowledge and understanding of instructional design, learning principles, and accessibility and experienced in applying them to online courses
- Knowledge and experience in working with different types of LMS, such as D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.
- Experienced in face-to-face (physical or virtual) collaboration with global faculty members, consulting with them on online pedagogy, and is solution-driven to find ways to overcome faculty and course design challenges.
- Experienced in leading the development of multiple courses at a time.
- Well-versed in using AI tools - understands the benefits, challenges, and guardrails to be employed.
- Experienced in creative media production, a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Track record of leading instructional projects successfully, either independently or leading a team of Instructional Designers.
- Excellent presentation, writing, and customer service skills.
- Candidates must be willing and able to participate in the evening calls
- A high level of confidence and professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
- Good work ethic and time management skills.
- Essential research skills as well as a high level of digital literacy.
- Attention to detail.
- Proactive communication
- Should have experience in and should be open to taking on organizational initiatives, such as conducting training, contributing to pre-sales, mentoring team members, and becoming a SPOC.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop asynchronous learning strategy for courses or curriculum based on learning design principles and in line with the college, curriculum, or program level requirements
- Collaborate with faculty members to design and develop online undergrad and graduate courses based on pre-defined learning design principles
- Partner with other Learning Designers and/or internal stakeholders as appropriate on development of learning framework, assessment strategy, media and other course components.
- Collaborate with the different teams (Design team and Build team) on a daily basis
- Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving the operational efficiency, learning design quality, or product innovation of the whole design team.
- Adhere to productivity and quality norms for project tasks
- Follow production checklists and guidelines and suggest improvements as required
- Create course outlines, storyboards, and simple infographics
- Conduct quality reviews of all deliverables as per the defined review process
- Ensure the delivery schedules are adhered to
- Identify possible risks at the production level and communicate the same to stakeholders
- Be available to conduct client calls in the PST zone. Only client calls could be scheduled in the US zones - max 11:30 IST; the rest of the work will be during normal working hours.
Candidates should be able to work both independently and as a member of a team. They should be able to proactively identify potential problems, discuss, and find solutions along with the rest of the team. They should be able to work under pressure, and juggle multiple priorities while producing high-quality output. Things change all the time. This is a very dynamic environment which means that you will need the ability to adapt to change quickly. Feedback forms part of the daily rhythms in the Learning Design team and you will need to be receptive to providing and receiving continuous feedback.
