Job Description

Job Title: INResidence Intern (Policy Intelligence & Institutional Advisory)

Organisation: Inflect Consulting

Location: New Delhi (Remote / Hybrid)

Duration: 3 Months

Start Date: Monday, 6 April 2026

Application Deadline: Friday, 20 March 2026

About Inflect

Inflect is a policy intelligence and systems-diagnostics firm working at the intersection of public policy, regulatory foresight, and institutional reform. We partner with governments, multilaterals, and private-sector stakeholders to diagnose systemic delivery failures, map policy architecture, and design implementation-ready interventions across sectors, including climate resilience, public health, fiscal systems, digital governance, land administration, EV policy, and social protection.

Our work is deeply research-driven, politically informed, and implementation-focused. We are building a team that combines analytical rigour with strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate complex policy insight into actionable partnerships.

About INResidence

INResidence is Inflects structured, cohort-based internship programme designed to identify and develop exceptional early-career talent in policy intelligence, applied research, and institutional advisory work.

We admit two interns per three-month cohort, ensuring close mentorship, meaningful responsibility, and deep integration into live workstreams. INResidence is a paid professional engagement, not an observational internship.

Interns are embedded within Inflects teams across research, data, strategy, and business development, depending on their strengths and interests.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking individuals with an undergraduate degree in fields closely aligned with Inflects work, including:

  • Economics
  • Law
  • Politics or Political Economy
  • Development Studies
  • Sociology
  • Anthropology
  • Psychology
  • Or related disciplines

Applicants must have received a First Class degree or equivalent academic distinction.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose academic interests and prior work intersect with Inflects thematic areas, including:

  • Climate and environmental risk
  • Gender and social protection
  • Public health
  • Land governance
  • Agriculture and water resources
  • Artificial intelligence and technology governance
  • Public finance
  • Electric vehicles and industrial policy
  • Regulatory systems and state capacity

We are looking for individuals who are intellectually rigorous, focused, analytically strong, and capable of working independently within a high-expectation environment.

What You Will Work On

INResidence interns are fully integrated into live projects. Depending on strengths and organisational needs, work may include:

  • Policy research and analytical support
  • Data cleaning, structuring, and analytical preparation
  • Business development and institutional strategy inputs
  • Writing and synthesis of complex material
  • Project-based support across Inflects verticals

Interns are treated as emerging practitioners and are expected to contribute meaningfully to real outputs.

Deliverables

Each intern will complete a substantive deliverable during their term. This may take the form of:

  • A long-form analytical paper
  • A structured research brief
  • A technical or data-oriented output
  • A strategy or policy note

The final deliverable will be mutually decided between the intern and the relevant team, based on the interns area of interest, strengths, and exposure during the programme. The emphasis is on depth, analytical integrity, and professional-quality work.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • A current CV
  • A strong piece of academic coursework or a published article in the field they are interested in pursuing at Inflect
  • (Optional but encouraged) A short note outlining how their interests align with Inflects work

Applications are evaluated on intellectual maturity, analytical clarity, evidence of rigorous thinking, and alignment with Inflects institutional focus.
