HIH Infrastructure Engineering Associate Advisor

The Infrastructure Advisor supports and troubleshoots complex technical environments across the global enterprise. This position will represent the Virtual Workspace department as a member of the Infrastructure Operations team. The CVW Operations team has support responsibility for infrastructures related to desktop virtualization, application virtualization, and remote access solutions. This will include but will not be limited to: Microsoft Active Directory, focusing on Group Policy design and implementation for the Citrix space. Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix StoreFront and Federated Authentication Services, and other related technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a background in multiple IT disciplines and be highly proficient in the following areas: workspace virtualization, application presentation, directory services, AD Group Policy and Citrix policy management, configuration management, and workflow automation.

Additional ability to work in a team environment and provide guidance to other team members is a plus.

Supports and manages highly complex Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops infrastructure, with an emphasis on delivering multiuser shared desktop platform and seamless applications.

High-level knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy and policy management.

Manages and supports solutions within Citrix Cloud and Microsoft Azure to drive cloud initiatives.

Manages and supports the migration and lifecycle of Citrix components for on-prem and cloud environments.

Supports VDI improvement efforts, and acts as SME supported technologies.

Gathers and compiles accurate information to analyze risks and work with Engineering teams to implement approved solutions.

Proactively improves or automates management processes using powershell or other scripting methods.

Implements high-impact changes to improve: user experience, operational efficiency, and support processes. Attention to detail and can provide documentation updates to SOPs knowledge and experience in the following areas is a plus

Support a 4 data center, active / active GLSB NetScaler environment and effectively plan and deploy updates and firmware upgrades

Support multiple StoreFront environment in production, stage, and development environments

Knowledge of FAS and certificate authentication

Education:

Proven track record in day-to-day production support

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or relevant field, plus 8 years of experience working with desktop and application virtualization technologies.

Experience:

Candidates must have strong experience in the following areas:

8-11 years of experience required

4 years experience with leading the support of enterprise level solutions to enable and secure a globally dispersed remote workforce.

CCA-V or CCP-V certification highly desired.

Citrix Provisioning Server

VMWare ESX and hypervisor technologies.

Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025

Skills:

Strong stakeholder relationship and communication skills

Experience leading migrations for PC workloads to virtual desktop or shared hosted desktop sessions.

Solid knowledge on managing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops components on-prem or in the cloud.

Advanced knowledge of VDI stack: presentation, brokering, provisioning, imaging, apps, and user layers.

Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows OS, and Profile Management.

Intermediate knowledge of cloud services such as: Citrix Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or Windows Virtual Desktop.

Familiar with project or work management concepts such as: ITIL, Scrum, LEAN, Agile, or DevOps.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to deal with shifting priorities as business needs evolve.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to participate and lead open discussions.

Must build positive working relationships with team members, engineering staff, and business representatives.
