1. Purpose of the Role
The Server Specialist in Industrial IT operates in a high-tech environment as part of a dynamic team, focusing on the development and maintenance of a stable and secure server infrastructure. The role involves close collaboration with developers to drive continuous improvement and leverage technologies such as Windows Server (20162025), Linux RedHat, and OpenShift for GPU and AI workloads.
The server landscape consists of approximately 3,000 servers, many virtualized or clustered, supported by redundant backup and storage systems across multiple data centers and managed by a specialized team.
2. Key Responsibilities
Request & Incident Management
- Handle OpenShift, backup/restore, and Windows-related requests
- Act as a specialist in resolving incidents to minimize downtime and disruption
- Execute service requests promptly and efficiently
Infrastructure Management
- Manage OpenShift, Windows clusters, and backup systems including updates, configurations, and installations
- Monitor service quality to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Collaborate on DR, security, continuity, growth, and renewal of server infrastructure
Project Work & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in project work, including architecture design and technical investigations
- Proactively identify infrastructure improvements through automation and innovation
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintain frequent interaction with developers, IT representatives (IBOs), server owners, and production contacts
- Align infrastructure solutions with business needs through effective stakeholder communication

- SCOM
- OneView
4. Requirements
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience
- 5 years of experience in a technical role such as:
- System Engineering
- IT Operations
- Infrastructure Management
