As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief Technology Office , you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

 
Job responsibilities

 

  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
  • Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
  • Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
  • Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
  • Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
  • Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in Infra engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands on experience in Linux,UNIX and Windows, application/middleware support knowledge.
  • Experience with Automation and Configuration tools like Ansible/Puppet/Chef .
  • Experience with scripting & programming languages like Python/Java.
  • Experience in handling critical application outages in an large scale operations & driving root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Experience with instrumentation, monitoring, alerting and responding - relative to performance and availability of application, using tools such as Dynatrace/AppDynamics, Splunk.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GIT and CI/CD pipelines, Agile and Scrum practices.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Understanding of concepts and principles behind DevOps and SRE.
  • Familiar with cloud Engineering & understanding of private cloud principles and exposure to public cloud offerings such as AWS/Azure/Google cloud or similar technology is preferred
