Job Description

Solution Architect II
● Product roadmap Definition
● Senior Solution Architect will have a broad scope of involvement in the construction and evolution of the Product Line/Product Roadmaps working with multiple product teams to ensure Platforms/Solutions are architectured following Enterprise Architecture strategy and principles, aligned with the overall Product Strategy.
● Analyse the current Business Application Architecture landscape of the given Product, to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
● Develop migration strategies to close gaps between current and future states of the Product Architecture.
Product Roadmap Execution
● Plays the “Architect Lead” role for initiatives, projects (waterfall) and Epics/ART’s (Agile) being executed under the responsibility of the Product Line the Architect is assigned to
o Provides Architectural guidance and leadership to Product teams on complex solutions and ensures that they are scalable, secure and aligned with Givaudan’s long term objectives
o Liaise with other Solution Architects in other Products within the Product Line/Digital Solution/Horizontal to bring together viewpoints of Enterprise, Solution, information and technology architecture to design solutions that deliver business value and enable organisations to become resilient and future-fit.
o Responsible for validating solution Architecture: Ensures initiatives, projects (waterfall) and Epics/User Stories (Agile) comply with established EA principles, standards and guidelines.
o Liaise with Enterprise Architects to check on how initiatives, projects (waterfall) and Epics/User Stories (Agile) contribute to close the gap between today’s and future Business Capabilities
o Responsible for building and for the completeness of the Solution Architecture Design (SAD) document, liaising with all other Architects to make sure SAD is complete.
o Responsible for documenting new and/or changes on existing Solutions for her/his Product lines/Products in Mega
o Ensures initiative/project functional and technical dependencies / impacts are considered and handled by the respective IT stakeholders (incl. Security aspects)
o Responsible to involve Enterprise Architects to guarantee coherence of the proposed Architectures in initiatives, projects (waterfall) and ART/Epics/User Stories (Agile) that are Cross Product, Cross Vertical (Digital Solutions), Cross Horizontal (IT&O, Information Security, Data & Analytics)
● Responsible for the ADR (Architecture Decision Record): Analyses high level requirements and identifies potential scenarios. Leads solution assessments (reuse-buy-build).
● ● Able to guide technical community engineers to ensure that the solutions being developed / implemented are using the latest and most appropriate technology stack
Credentials & Experience
● Required Higher Education completed preferably with a degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
● Minimum of 8+ years of professional working experience within the field of Solution architecture
Skills
● Familiar with Architecture Frameworks and development/operational methodologies (e.g., ITIL, ITSM …) with excellent knowledge of information systems, related modelling methods & tools
● Good understanding of Innovation approaches and methodologies (Design Thinking, lean Start-up, …)
● Good knowledge of MSA, Backend & Front End technologies and Mobile technologies
● Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
