Job Description
Project Role Description : Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provide hardware/software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Work includes L1 and L2/ basic and intermediate level troubleshooting.

Summary: Act as the ongoing interface between the client and the system or application. Dedicated to quality, using exceptional communication skills to keep our world class systems running. Can accurately define a client issue and can interpret and design a resolution based on deep product knowledge. Roles & Responsibilities: a) Liaising with the customer technical representatives. b) Implement the changes as applicable, test the changes and handover to customer. c) Troubleshoot issues with OS/Backup. Professional & Technical Skills: a) Must have 8+ years of AS/400 system Operations/Administrator experience. b) Server daily health check activities. C) User profile and Security management. D) Job management, job life cycle, OUTQ management etc. e) Backups and other jobs for problem determination and resolution. F) Patch management. g) IBM supported network architecture and configurations - TCP/IP, SNI, SNA etc. h) Hands-on experience working on HMC/LPAR Management, MIMIX, Robot, Migration, OS upgrade, VTL and VIOS. i) Restoration and BRMS, Tape management. j) Knowledge on replication software. k) Independently work with vendors on HW/SW issue. L) Analyze disk space utilization and recommend corrective action. m) Participate in Root Cause Analysis RCA. n) Participate in Disaster recovery process. o) Team management and Customer facing. P) Good knowledge on ITIL concepts (Incident, problem & change management skills) Additional Information: a) Good verbal and written communication skill to connect with customer at varying levels of the organization. b) Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision. c) Flexible to work in 247 environments
