Information Technology Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities

1. IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) Administration & Automation

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle operations of software configuration management applications, preferably IBM ELM, in compliance with ITIL standards across Windows and Linux environments.
• Automate installation, configuration, and upgrade processes for IBM ELM using Batch, Shell, PowerShell, and Python scripting.
• Build and deploy RPM/spec packages for Apache Traffic Server and HAProxy components (preferred).
• Deploy, configure, and maintain IBM ELM across multiple architectural topologies.
• Ensure system stability through performance monitoring (Splunk preferred), incident management, and capacity planning.
• Drive service improvements by automating routine operational activities and implementing process optimizations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and IBM vendors for issue resolution and technical support.

2. Environment & Infrastructure Management

• Administer and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers hosting ELM and related applications.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to maintain secure, scalable, and highly available environments.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads using OpenShift (preferred).

3. Application Deployment, Web & Proxy Server Management

• Install, configure, and manage web/application servers such as IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Liberty, and IBM HTTP Server.
• Manage SSL certificates, OIDC authentication, and Kerberos/SPNEGO Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations.
• Utilize deployment automation tools such as IBM UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) or Ansible to support CI/CD pipelines.
• Administer and support proxy technologies including Apache Traffic Server and HAProxy.

4. Documentation, Reporting & Collaboration

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, scripts, processes, and deployment procedures.
• Generate operational, compliance, and performance reports as required.
• Provide ongoing technical guidance and operational support to cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Linux and/or Windows system administration with application hosting experience.
• Mandatory: Advanced scripting proficiency in Shell scripting and at least two of the following: Python, PowerShell, Perl, or Batch.
• Hands-on experience with deployment automation and CI/CD tools (UCD and Ansible preferred).
• Working knowledge of container orchestration platforms (OpenShift preferred).
• Strong understanding of web servers (IBM WAS/Liberty, Apache) and proxy technologies (Apache Traffic Server, HAProxy).
• Solid experience managing SSL certificates, OIDC authentication, and Kerberos/SPNEGO SSO configurations.

Mandatory Skill

• Storage Administration experience with platforms such as NetApp, Hitachi, EMC, IBM Storage, or Pure Storage.
