About the Role
We are hiring an IT Infrastructure Manager to manage and evolve the core technology infrastructure of a private university. This role focuses on ensuring stable, secure, and well-integrated IT systems that support academic delivery and administrative operations across the institution.
The right candidate brings hands-on experience with open-source technologies used in university environments, strong networking and security fundamentals, and the ability to work effectively with external agencies providing academic and administrative software platforms.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the universitys IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services
- Ensure high availability and performance of academic and administrative systems such as ERP, LMS, student information systems, examination platforms, finance, HR, and admissions systems
- Lead the deployment, customization, and maintenance of open-source software used across teaching, learning, and administration
- Manage integration between multiple systems to ensure smooth data flow and consistent user experience across departments
- Coordinate with external software vendors, open-source service providers, and implementation partners
- Oversee network design, monitoring, and optimization across campus (wired, wireless, VPN, firewalls)
- Implement and maintain strong security controls, access management, data protection, and backup policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and application-level issues with a practical, problem-solving approach
- Work closely with academic offices, administration, and IT teams to translate functional needs into reliable technical solutions
- Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Associate to mid-senior level experience managing IT infrastructure in an educational or similar multi-department environment
- Strong knowledge of open-source technologies commonly used in universities (Linux systems, open-source databases, web servers, LMS platforms, identity management tools, etc.)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including routing, switching, wireless networks, firewalls, and VPNs
- Practical experience implementing security best practices for campus networks and enterprise systems
- Hands-on experience integrating academic and administrative platforms
- Proven ability to manage external agencies and software providers
- High problem-solving ability with a structured, calm approach to incident resolution
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience working in private universities or large education service organizations
- Familiarity with virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and backup/disaster recovery solutions
- Exposure to campus-wide authentication and role-based access systems
