About the Role

Our client is seeking a Fundamental Equity Research Analyst to join its Mumbai office. The role is part of a global investment platform and involves close collaboration with portfolio managers and investment professionals across regions. The analyst will contribute to idea generation, investment research, and portfolio decision-making within a high-performance investment environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Portfolio Managers to conduct fundamental equity research, with an initial focus on India equities , and gradually expanding coverage to other regions, particularly Southeast Asia and Australia
• Monitor macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and regulatory developments to identify investment opportunities and risks
• Build, maintain, and update detailed financial models and perform valuation analysis
• Attend company meetings, conduct channel checks, and participate in industry and investor events
• Contribute to the investment process through written research notes and verbal idea discussions
• Collaborate with global team members on regular and ad-hoc research projects

Requirements

• Strong academic background; CFA charterholder or progress toward the CFA preferred
• 35 years of experience in sell-side or buy-side equity research, investment banking, or a related finance role
• Strong analytical skills with solid financial modeling and valuation capabilities
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• High sense of responsibility and integrity; self-motivated with strong intellectual curiosity
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
