General Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced, execution-focused leader to serve as the India Global Capability Center (GCC) Managing Director, responsible for the operations of two GCC locations in India:
- an existing site in the Central Business District of Bengaluru - supporting Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and select Technology functions; and
- a new site in a location to be determined in Bengalaru focused on technology, including, but not limited to Infrastructure, SAP, Data & Analytics, Information Security, and Consumer Technology (including eCommerce, retail store, and marketing).
This role will oversee the new site and provide governance and oversight for GCC operations in both locations. The existing Bengaluru site serves a dual-purpose including India-based supply chain operations as well as GCC operations, with site leadership provided by supply chain leadership.
Reporting to the Companys Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for driving long-term value and acting as a bridge between GCC strategy and execution.
The GCC operates under a matrix model: functional teams report directly to global leaders at HQ in Portland, Oregon, USA, with a dotted-line relationship to this role. Success requires strong influence, operational discipline, and strategic alignment with global priorities.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities :
- Strategic Leadership and Business Partnership:
- Serve as the primary liaison between India GCC operations and Columbia Sportswear Companys (CSC) HQ ensuring alignment and coordination, as well as escalation of key issues to executive leadership.
- Build positive working relationships and trust with the companys executive leadership, global functional leaders and India GCC leaders and delivery managers to develop a deep understanding of the companys business and related strategies, operations, and priorities.
- Partner with executive leadership, global functional leaders and India GCC leaders and delivery managers to develop strategic plans encompassing GCC expansion, operational improvements, and talent strategies.
- Site Leadership:
- Serve as the site leader for the new Bengalaru GCC office fostering a high-performance and values-driven culture.
- Establish governance rhythms (leadership meetings, townhalls, engagement rituals).
- Manage budget of GCC site operations as well as centralized costs for team events/activities and other similar centralized costs.
- Ensure facilities meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- GCC Setup & Scale:
- Lead Phase I (1218 months): office setup, team hiring and onboarding (co-owned with GCC functional leads), and governance framework.
- Transition to Phase II: steady-state operations with continuous improvement and growth.
- Operational Excellence and Governance:
- Consult with Global and India-based functional teams to define and monitor KPIs and SLAs.
- Conduct governance forums with HQ to review performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Drive LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Workforce & Capacity Planning:
- Partner with HQ stakeholders to plan for GCC headcount growth and onboarding of new GCC capabilities.
- Implement strategies in partnership with Human Resources and GCC functional leaders to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to the companys code of conduct and with local/global laws and regulations.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate key risks to our GCC operations.
- Develop and maintain business continuity plans for our India operations.

- New site operational within timeline and budget.
- Governance cadence established and KPIs consistently met.
- Talent acquisition and retention targets achieved.
- Positive engagement scores and cultural integration across sites.
Required Qualifications :
- 10+ years of leadership experience in GCC operations or shared services, including multi-site management.
- Expertise in operational execution, governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence in a matrix environment.
- Familiarity with Indias regulatory frameworks and global compliance standards.
Supervisory Responsibility & Interpersonal Contacts :
- India GCC and site-level oversight.
- People leadership managed via indirect (matrix) reporting line relationships. India GCC capability leaders and delivery managers report directly into their respective global functions.
- Regular interaction with the HQ executive leadership, global functional leaders, and external partners.
- Responsible for confidential executive-level reporting and decision support.
