Index Dividend Developer

Your Team Responsibilities

You will work as part of a delivery focused, talented software development team located across 3 MSCI offices, in charge of maintaining and enhancing MSCI Corporate Events and Dividend platforms.

Your Key Responsibilities

• You will contribute to the design, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of highly available, reliable, data-intensive systems that underpin critical business processes.
• You will play a key role in modernizing our Index Dividends platform, working with Java, Spring, and Oracle on the backend, and React, AG Grid, and TypeScript on the frontend.
• You will also contribute to the Market Factual Corporate Events platform, owned by the same team and built on a shared, modern technology stack.
• While your primary focus will be backend development, you will have opportunities to expand your skill set and gain hands-on experience on the frontend as well.
• As part of your daily engineering practice, you will be expected to effectively leverage MSCI-approved generative AI tools (such as Cursor) to improve code quality, accelerate development, and support best-in-class engineering standards.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

• Ability to implement a web interface using the Typescript language and a library or framework like Angular, React or Vue is a plus.
• The candidate needs to be an exceptionally strong core Java programmer, with great knowledge of the Spring framework.
• The candidate should also have strong experience working with a relational database, preferably Oracle, with the ability to understand and write complex queries
• processing high volumes of data supporting critical business processes.
• The candidate also needs to have the business acumen to understand financial concepts around reference data related to equities and other asset classes.
  With strong design skills, the candidate should also be able to lead technical discussions with technical experts and business stakeholders.
