Position: Regional Direct Tax Lead (NorthEast)

Designation: Manager / Senior Manager

Function: Finance & Accounts - Taxation

Location: New Delhi

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (Mandatory), with 37 years of post-qualification experience in core Direct Taxation domain

Ideal CTC Range: 25 Lakhs

Ideal Candidate Profile: Core direct tax experience from premier tax consultants / Big 4 / reputed law firms specializing in Direct Tax matters (e.g.: Vaish Associates Advocates or similar). Please avoid generalist profiles (e.g.: handling a lot of other things including direct tax / taxation)

Key Responsibilities:

To lead and manage all direct tax matters for the assigned region, ensuring 100% statutory compliance in line with applicable Income Tax laws

Manage direct tax compliance including Income Tax returns, advance tax, TDS/TCS, and tax audits

Handle Income Tax assessments, reassessments, rectification proceedings, and scrutiny cases

Prepare responses to notices under various sections of the Income Tax Act

Coordinate with tax consultants, advocates, and auditors for appeals before CIT(A), ITAT, and higher authorities

Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance for inter-company and inter-unit transactions

Support tax planning and optimization initiatives within the legal framework

Guide plant & regional finance teams on tax provisions, TDS compliance, and documentation in alignment with corporate tax policies and governance standards

Track changes in tax laws and advise stakeholders on implications

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of Indian Income Tax Act, Rules, and litigation procedures

Hands-on domain experience, preferably in large-scale manufacturing companies, direct tax consultants etc.

Good analytical skill for complex tax computations and assessments

Ability to effectively manage multiple internal and external stakeholders
