Responsibilities:
As a Senior Associate specializing in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for Utilities at PwC, you will be a crucial part of a team of problem solvers, helping clients address intricate business challenges from strategy to execution. Key responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to the following:
- Project Scope Management: Understand the project scope, schedules, deliverables, and work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
- Requirements Gathering: Conduct discussions with clients to gather requirements and analyze these to design optimal GIS solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various stakeholders such as GIS software providers, implementation partners, and other relevant parties.
- Documentation: Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPR) and monitor progress against these documents.
- Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS): Work with Module Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to prepare Functional Requirement Specifications.
- Program Management: Oversee end-to-end program management, including project initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure.
- Solution Design: Design GIS solutions in line with industry best practices and ensure they meet business requirements.
- Data Management: Ensure the quality and integrity of geospatial data and its integration with other enterprise systems.
- Spatial Analysis: Perform advanced spatial analysis and modeling to support decision-making processes
Mandatory skill sets:
- GIS Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge and experience with GIS platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
- Utilities Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the utilities industry such as electric, gas, water, and wastewater systems.
- Implementation Experience: Experience in the analysis, planning, and driving the implementation of GIS solutions.
- GIS Lifecycle Knowledge: Understanding of the GIS implementation lifecycle, including data collection, analysis, visualization, and maintenance.
- Data Integration: Experience in integrating GIS with other enterprise systems like SAP, ERP, or CRM.
Preferred skill sets:
- Technical Infrastructure Understanding: Understanding of IT infrastructure requirements related to GIS implementation will be an added advantage.
- Advanced Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Programming and Scripting: Experience with GIS-related programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Remote Sensing: Knowledge of remote sensing technologies and their application in utilities.
Years of experience required:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in GIS, with a focus on utilities.
Education qualification:
B.Tech in any stream from recognized university + MBA (preferable)
