Role Summary
The Immigration & Legal HR Specialist will be responsible for managing employment-based immigration processes, ensuring statutory and labor law compliance, and supporting HR operations from a legal and regulatory perspective. The role requires close coordination with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and government authorities to ensure timely compliance and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Immigration Management
- Manage end-to-end employment visa lifecycle (work permits, employment passes, dependent visas, renewals, cancellations).
- Liaise with immigration consultants, legal counsel, and government authorities.
- Track visa expirations and maintain immigration compliance records.
- Advise business and employees on immigration policies and documentation requirements.
- Ensure adherence to country-specific immigration regulations.
2. Legal & Statutory HR Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory obligations.
- Draft, review, and maintain employment contracts, secondment letters, and HR policy documentation.
- Support HR audits and statutory inspections.
- Manage documentation related to employee onboarding, background verification, and compliance filings.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on impact.
3. Documentation & Record Management
- Maintain repository in soft copy and hard copies.
- Ensure proper record retention as per statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Law.
- 1-3 years of experience in immigration, HR compliance, or employment law.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and immigration processes.
- Experience working with government portals and statutory filings.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills.
