·         Regular visits to all wards and high-risk areas.

·         Checking nurse in charges registers and patient case records for cases suggestive of infections.

·         Daily Patient active surveillance by using HAI Tracker sheet.

·         Collection of samples from different areas of the hospital for surveillance purpose and sending them to lab.

·         Daily visit to microbiology lab to ascertain results of samples collected for surveillance and to liaise between microbiology and clinical departments.

·         Monitoring and supervision of infections amongst hospital staff.

·         Meet infection Control Officer and Discuss regarding suspected HAI cases.

·         Daily Report all the activities to Infection Control Coordinator.

·         On job training of nursing staff and paramedical personnel on correct hygiene practices, aseptic techniques and various infection control practices.

·         Maintenance of Vaccination record of all employees.

·         Do a monthly audit of infection control practices including safe injection practices and hand hygiene compliance.

·         ICN should plan, organize and coordinate audit and monitoring of wards, hospital environment to ensure the infection prevention and control practices.

·         ICN should coordinate with management and multidisciplinary infection control committee to plan and implement training program in hospital.

·         Should identify and take appropriate action to control the outbreak infection and documented.

·         ICN will lead the program of infection prevention in hospital premises as per national and regional guideline and documented. Also update it annually with updating of guidelines.

·         Should implement the policy and procedure laid down in infection manual in all area of hospital.

·         To monitor and implement the kitchen sanitation, heath check-ups, and disinfectant protocols and scheduled for hospital infection prevention activity.

·         ICN develops the training program on Infection prevention activity to both for staff and visitor.

·         To monitor the process of biomedical waste segregation, handling, transportation and implement the national guidelines in hospital premises and perform randomly audit on them also update it annually as per updating of national guidelines

·               Extended hours may be required

·         Should have understanding of all infection control practices and tracking of HAI and infection control quality indicators.
