Job Description

Were Hiring: HVAC Engineering / Technical Lead

(MEP BIM EU Commercial Projects)

Puducherry, India

Office-first role (up to 3 days WFH per week in exceptional cases)

Projects: Belgium & EU Commercial Buildings

We deliver HVAC BIM and engineering for Belgian and EU commercial projects where engineering discipline and technical correctness are non-negotiable.

We are hiring an HVAC Engineering / Technical Lead to take ownership of HVAC technical quality and lead review and QA discipline within a growing delivery team.

This is not a senior modeler role.

This is not a coordination-only role.

This is a review, QA/QC, and technical leadership role.

This role is for you if:

  • You can review and correct HVAC designs, not just model them
  • You routinely catch design, sizing, or system-logic mistakes before clients do
  • You are comfortable saying this is wrong and clearly explaining why
  • You want technical authority and accountability, not task execution

Your core responsibility (what you actually do):

You are personally accountable for:

  • Technical correctness and constructability of HVAC & plumbing shop drawings and BIM deliverables before client submission
  • Engineering review: loads, sizing logic, system selection
  • Constructability and coordination readiness (buildable, clash-aware outputs)
  • Reducing rework by enforcing standards, checklists, and review discipline
  • Mentoring junior engineers and modelers through structured feedback

Note:

This role is primarily review-focused.

You may occasionally perform or validate engineering calculations, but this is not a production-heavy calculation role.

Revit / BIM expectations:

  • Comfortable working directly in Revit MEP to:
  • Audit HVAC systems in 3D
  • Verify sizes, elevations, slopes, and coordination
  • Confirm the model reflects engineering intent
  • You are not expected to be a fast production modeler
  • BIM is used as a verification tool, not a drafting exercise

Client interaction:

  • Focus on technical clarifications, design discussions, and engineering decisions
  • Delivery management, commercial topics, and firefighting remain with the management team

Requirements:

  • 610 years experience in HVAC design and/or BIM delivery
  • Strong HVAC fundamentals for commercial buildings
  • Proven ability to review others work independently and defend decisions
  • Comfortable working with standards, checklists, and QA processes
  • Exposure to EU / international projects preferred (not mandatory)

This role is NOT for you if:

  • You only model what you are told
  • You believe client approval defines technical quality
  • You cannot clearly explain your design or review decisions
  • You resist standards, checklists, or QA processes

Compensation:

15 22 LPA (CTC), depending on capability and interview performance.

Compensation reflects the seniority, authority, and review ownership expected in this role.

This role is not suitable for candidates seeking low-responsibility or purely modeling work.

If you want technical ownership, respect, and authority, we want to talk.
